PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) — Visit Panama City Beach took today as an opportunity to say thank you to locals and visitors alike.

This year’s Tourism Appreciation Day was held at the M. B. Miller County Pier.

The celebration offered live music, a photo booth bus, and Blue Bell ice cream to help beat the heat.

We spoke with Visit Panama City Beach’s Communications Manager, Sydney Clifton, about the importance of celebrating the tourism and hospitality industry.

“We’ve got a bunch of people out here today just to celebrate tourism and really give our appreciation to the hospitality industry,” Clifton said. “And all the people that make it such a great place to come visit.”

Panama City Beach has a lot to celebrate. Last year visitors spent over $3,000,000,000 in Panama City Beach.

That money fuels the local economy and supports over 35,000 jobs.
