Anyone who listened to music in the early-mid 2000s knows either a Nelly song or an Ashanti song, even if you don’t realize it. The two singers ruled the early aughts with hits from Nelly like “Hot in Herre” to Ashanti’s “Rock Wit U.”
The couple had a decade-long on-and-off romance from 2003 until 2013, when they split up for 10 years, before reconnecting in 2022 and quietly tying the knot in 2023. Since then, Nelly and Ashanti have welcomed their own child, son Kareem Kenkaide Hayes on July 18, 2024.

Their relationship was plastered across headlines for much of the early 2000s, with fans wondering where they really stood with one another. But when they secretly reignited their flame and announced their marriage, it was clear they were ready to commit to one another. When does ‘Nelly and Ashanti’ premiere?
Luckily for fans of Nelly and Ashanti, or just reality fans in general, you won’t have to wait too long for this one to be on your screen. Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together premieres on Peacock on Thursday, June 26.
The show features 8 episodes in the first season, all of which will drop on the premiere date, perfect for a Thursday night or weekend-long binge.

The singers met for the first time at the 2003 Grammy Awards, and for years, they denied they were actually dating. However, rumors continued to fly and they would give vague comments on the matter, while also attending events like perfume launches together and starring in music videos together.
However, they never took their relationship to the level of marriage, with Nelly publicly commenting they were “just friends” in 2010. By 2013, they were rumored to have broken up. In 2015, Ashanti confirmed that she had “been betrayed” and addressed that they were no longer together.
But in 2021, the pair reunited on stage for the first time, and it was a surprise to them both, as well as fans. They later performed their 2008 song, “Body On Me” in 2022, which seemed to be the beginning of something new. Nelly and Ashanti confirmed they were back together in 2023 and the rest is history.
