Dvorjančanský has previously led A1's Croatian and North Macedonia units from 2014 to 2024. He's also held senior roles at Telefónica and Deutsche Telekom.

Since June of last year, he's been on a career break, as noted on his LinkedIn.

A1 noted that his appointment was made unanimously by the supervisory board.

Austrian telco A1 serves more than 5 million mobile customers in the country, plus close to 2 million fixed-line subscribers. It has been a subsidiary of Mexican telecommunications conglomerate América Móvil since 2014, with Austria's state-owned holding company Österreichische Beteiligungs having a minority stake.

A1 Group as a whole operates in seven markets, including Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia. Across these markets, the telco has more than 30 million customers.

Commenting on his upcoming departure, Grausam said: "It was a privilege for me to be able to help shape the digital transformation of A1 Austria for many years. I would like to thank the entire A1 team, to which I have been a member for 27 years. I am convinced that the new management board team will successfully lead this incredibly great company into the future."

A1 Group also announced changes to its management board team in Austria, with current chief commercial officer Martin Resel named deputy CEO of the company.

The company added that Natascha Kantauer-Gansch will also be appointed to the executive board as CCO consumer, while previous CFO Sonja Wallner will remain CFO of A1 Austria and A1 Group.
