Teen salesgirl docked for allegedly stealing her employer’s N374,000

The accused was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

Alabi, 18, was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Sgt. James Oriola, the accused sold 271 asbestos sheets valued at N374,750, belonging to the complainant, Mr Gbenga George of Oju-oja area of Apete, Ibadan.

Oriola said Alabi allegedly refused to remit the money to the account of the employer and converted the money to personal use.

He also alleged that the accused in her desperate bid to cover up her tracts, altered the books.

Oriola said the offences which were committed on September 10 at 1. 00p.m. at Oju-oja area of Apete, contravened Sections 390 and 469 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr M. Salami, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties, who must possess national identity cards.

He said one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the accused and adjourned the case until November 22.
