The Stockholm terror attack suspect reportedly told police he had "achieved what he set out to do" and that his deadly truck rampage was "revenge for bombing ISIS".

Rakhmat Akilov, from Uzbekistan, was identified as the suspected driver of the hijacked beer truck which mowed down pedestrians in the Swedish capital.

The 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences hours after the attack.

In interview Akilov, a father-of-four, admitted he had planned the attack even carrying out a recce of the pedestrian street he sped down, a police source told the Expressen newspaper.

Investigators also disclosed a "suspect device" was found inside the lorry which was reported by state media to be a "bag of explosives".

On Sunday, police revealed the suspect was an asylum seeker who applied for residency in Sweden in 2014 but had his application rejected in June last year.

Authorities said the man was wanted in relation to a deportation order and that he had displayed "sympathies" for terror groups, including ISIS.

He allegedly had links to the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir, had an expertise in explosives, and worked for an asbestos removal company at one time, Expressen reported.

Police spokesman Jonas Hysing said: "We know that he showed sympathies for extremist organisations, among them Islamic State."

Police had been looking for Akilov since Sweden's Migration Agency gave him four weeks to leave the country in December.

Mr Ek wrote in a statement on Facebook: "It is with shock and a heavy heart that I can confirm that Chris Bevington from our Spotify team lost his life in Friday’s senseless attack on Stockholm.

"Chris has been a member of our band for over 5 years. He has had a great impact on not just the business but on everyone who had the privilege to know and work with him.

"There are no words for how missed he will be or for how sad we all are to have lost him like this."

He added: "Whilst this terrible news is sinking in, our primary focus is on supporting the family and loved ones of Chris in any way we possibly can."

Police identified all four victims which include two Swedes and a Belgian as well as the British man. Their families have all been informed.

The Foreign Office confirmed Mr Bevington was among the dead and it was helping his relatives both in Sweden and in the UK.

A spokesman said: Stockholm police have confirmed that a British man was killed during the attack in Stockholm.

"We are supporting his family in Sweden and in the UK. Our thoughts are with them and all those affected at this terrible time. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with Sweden as they deal with this tragedy.”

He had not been known as a militant threat by the security services before Friday's attack.

Police also said roughly five other people of interest to the investigation which included around 500 interviews.

Investigators also said a second person had been arrested over the atrocity and that a court has appointed them a legal representative.

Prosecutors said the man was held on suspicion of a "terrorist crime through murder" - the same grounds as the Uzbek suspect.
